Spain will be full of optimism as they head into their preparations for the U16 European Championship for Men in Bar, Montenegro.

The Spaniards will go up against Bulgaria, Latvia and Poland in Group C.

Spain coach Luis Guil said: "This under-16 team has a lack of height and width but has a lot of talent and the exterior players are big.

"Another positive aspect is that we have a big group of player to select 12 for the tournament.

"During the European Championship, we will try to hide our defects and exploit the virtues that this generation has.

"We will go to the tournament with ambition."
